WHAT WE DID
Photographic Reportage
DESCRIPTION
IPPI Studio is undoubtedly oriented to B2B communication, but recounting the people, traditions and roots of a people is always an exciting challenge.
Here we are in Ottana, in Barbagia, in the heart of Sardinia, where every year, for centuries, citizens have organized a rite that smells like atavic. Masks sculpted by skilled local artisans represent the relationship between man and animals in a dance around the fire of Saint Anthony.
Many have asked us if they were the much better known Mamuthones: no, they are not the Mamuthones of Mamoiada, but the Sos Boes, Merdules and Sa Filonzana that parade on the day of”S'Ogulone de Sant'Antoni“in Ottana. Filonzana is the old woman that everyone fears, curved and dressed in black, with her face covered by a wooden mask. He carries a spindle and wool, like one of the patches of Greek mythology, ready at any moment to cut the thread of life. She predicts good or bad luck depending on whether or not she likes the wine offered to her on the street.
There are so many things that could be said, but let's leave the word to the images.
